The blade of this wakizashi is made of 1095 high carbon steel and clay tempered to produce a genuine hamon. The surface is mirror-like as a result of the 4-day hand polishing process. It is a very strong sword, made with traditional methods. The blade was repeatedly heat treated and hand forged to remove impurities which makes the blade strong and flexible. The blade is full tang, hand sharpened, and battle ready. The sword comes with silk sageo/ito, genuine same' (rayskin), a black matte hard wood saya, and iron fittings. This sword is a very good choice for dojo and iaido use, gifts, cutting practice, display, and collection. It is durable enough for tameshigiri, bamboo, bones, and iron wire. The cutting edge can be customized for different usage.
